Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT)

Assertive Community Treatment is a team treatment approach designed to provide comprehensive, community-based psychiatric treatment, rehabilitation, and support to persons with serious and persistent mental illness such as schizophrenia. Services are provided by a team of professionals with backgrounds in social work, rehabilitation, counseling, nursing, and psychiatry. ACT is an evidenced-based practice that has been extensively researched and evaluated for effectiveness. KRCC has one ACT Team serving all 8 counties.
